Stress and Coping Strategies among Frontline Nurses during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Vietnam

Objective: This study was conducted to describe the stress situation, coping strategies and effective support measures manage of nurses in South Vietnam for coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) prevention control. Material Methods: The cross-sectional descriptive design used achieve objectives. Research measurements were adapted, based on scale provided by Zhang et al. (2021). There 355 from medical facilities North Central regions participating against COVID-19 epidemic, who completed online survey. Results: reported rate 51.5%, with most common nursing stressors being homesickness (84.2%) discomfort caused protective equipment (83.9%). commonly methods taking preventive (98.6%), adjusting their attitude facing epidemic positively (96.6), actively learning about (94.6%), chatting families friends (91%). considered included; encouragement family, relatives colleagues, fully equipped knowledge skills participate control timely provision personal equipment. Conclusion: experienced significant stress, frequently family related. Hence, social interventions should be organized improve mental health frontline during pandemic.
